ANSWERS:
Q: 1 - What are the benefits of choosing a chain link fence?
A: In short, longevity and ease of maintenance. Chain link fences are built to last by using durable materials (galvanized steel). Maintenance is minimal (if necessary at all), and you dont need to sand, repaint, etc
Q: 2 - Do you supply and install residential, commercial and industrial fencing?
A: Yes, Duraguard Fence has a wealth of experience in residential, commercial and industrial fencing. From fencing off dogs to airports, Duraguard can do it. When you phone us, please specify what type of estimator you wish to speak with.
Q: 3 - Do you do work outside Edmonton and its surrounding area?
A: Yes, we have crews working all around Alberta and beyond. If you are from out of town, please let us know.
Q: 4 - Can I just buy the fencing material from Duraguard?
A: Yes, we sell all the components to make a chain link fence, right down to the nuts and bolts.
Q: 5 - How much does it cost to get a chain link fence?
A: Prices for material and installation are based on type and height of fence, lineal footage and the number and type/size of corners and gates.
Q: 6 - What can I do to get an estimate for my fence?
A: While wed be happy to discuss your fencing needs over the phone, be forewarned that phone (or faxed-in) estimates are only as accurate as the measurements and descriptions you give us. If youre not handy with a tape measure, youd probably be better served by having an estimator come out to take a look at the area to be fenced.
Q: 7 - What information do I need before I call Duraguard?
A: We love getting calls/faxes from customers that know what type, height and quantity of fence they want. If youre faxing us, please include a diagram of an above view of the yard, indicating with lines where you want the fence, along with all of the measurements (in feet/inches) clearly labelled. Use dots to indicate posts (for gates, ends, and corners) and show us the size and location of the gates. If the posts are going on cement, asphalt, or anything other than dirt, we need to know.
Q: 8 - Do you need to see the site before you install?
A: Yes. A crucial part of building your fence is the construction plan, which is based on an on-site visit. The verification of the measurements, along with descriptions of the ground and potential obstructions is important information for the proper installation of your fence.
Q: 9 - Can I get a white/black/green/brown fence?
A: Yes, we have these colours available in fencing. The galvanized mesh has been coloured by coating it with coloured vinyl. The other metal components (ie. posts, tension bands etc.) are powder-coated and coloured to last.
Q: 10a - What are privacy slats?
A: Privacy slats, when correctly installed in chain link fence, provide a barrier from your yard to the outside world. They offer protection from the eyes of passers-by, and shelter your yard from the wind.
Q: 10b - What are they made of?
A: Privacy slats are made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride, which is an extremely durable industrial plastic material).
Q: 10c - How much privacy do they provide?
A: We carry a variety of slatting options, from moderate privacy (bottom lock style) to near-complete privacy (finlink and duraslat styles).
Q: 10d - What colours are available?
A: We normally stock white, as its the most commonly requested colour, but we can special order different colours (black, green, brown, grey, redwood, beige and blue) if you are willing to wait a little longer to get your hands on them.
Q: 10e - What kind of warranty do they have?
A: The slats have a 20 year warranty from the manufacturer.
Q: 10f - Can I install them myself?
A: Installation of most slats is relatively easy to do, and can be handled by most people who would consider themselves to be handy. However, installation of "finlink" privacy slats is a physically demanding and tedious process. If you have the time and are up to the challenge, good luck to you; if not, we can install them for you.
Q: 11 - Do you manufacture your own chain link mesh?
A: Yes we do. We have two chain link weaving machines, which ensures that you are getting direct-from-the-manufacturer pricing. Manufacturing our own chain link also allows us to make certain the quality is always there.
Q: 12 - Do you offer a warranty?
A: Absolutely. It is a one year warranty on the workmanship and materials.
Q: 13 - Can you custom build a gigantic gate for my industrial yard?
A: You may think its too big, but try us and you might be surprised. Our ability to make custom gates surpasses that of many other companies.
